Dr Phosa is Treasurer General of the ANC, businessman, and a former premier of Mpumalanga. In addition to his successful involvement in politics, development and the business world, Mathews is creatively gifted – he published a volume of poetry called: ‘Deur die oog van ‘n naald’ (Through the eye of a needle) in 1999.
