Module Overview
The Policy Development and Management course explores the impact that organisational policies have on young people by studying a range of factors that contribute to policy development. In this way, it equips participants with the ability to contribute in a meaningful, informed way to policy formulation and development. This can be expanded beyond youth development and applied to other fields, further empowering those who have completed the course to have a positive impact on society, through adjusting public and organisation policy processes.
Learning Outcomes
- Explain current legislation and policies applicable to organizations.
- Describe the processes that contribute to the development of policies.
- Identify gaps in policies that impact in specific contexts.
- Prepare and use techniques that contribute to policy development in organizations.
Duration
Three days contact time including facilitation and group activities.
30 days self study after which participants are to submit their Portfolio of Evidence.

Contribute towards organisation policy development |
- A Certificate of Competence will be awarded to all delegates who successfully submit and are found competent on their Portfolios of Evidence (PoEs).
- A Regenesys Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to delegates who do not successfully submit a PoE within the specified timeframe after attending the three days of training.

It is recommended that learners have the following pre-knowledge and/or proof of competence before enrolling in this course:
- Communication and language NQF level 4
- Youth development practice NQF level 4
