Programme Overview
This course is for learners who wish to improve their leadership qualities by overcoming emotional obstacles to success thereby improving relationships and deepening their awareness and control of positive and negative emotions, attitudes and behaviours. The course introduces emotional intelligence and will assist individuals in achieving internal equilibrium and success in all areas of their life.
A range of issues will be introduced including useful approaches to overcoming stress, breaking down communication barriers, enhancing leadership effectiveness and team relationships. Training in self-awareness and self-management will prepare learners to overcome inner barriers to growth and development and to achieve greater success.
Upon completing this course, the participants should be able to:
- Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the principles and concepts of emotional intelligence with regard to life and work relationships.
- Analyse the role of emotional intelligence in interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships in life and work situations.
- Be able to apply key project management tools Gantt chart, work break-down structure, budget, and schedules
- Analyse the impact of emotional intelligence on life and work interactions.
- Evaluate their own level of emotional intelligence in order to determine development areas.
- Explain the concept of leadership.
- Differentiate between leadership and management.
- Analyse and compare leadership theories.
- Apply the different roles and qualities of leadership in a work context.
