Programme Overview
Accounting is the keystone of business, yet a shortage of experienced accounting and finance professionals continues to affect employers around the world. To compete with other countries, we need specialised skills and competencies in finance and accounting. Government, multinationals, small and medium enterprises all depend upon good financial management.
The Level 5 – Higher Certificate: Accountant includes a choice of special units, which means that you can focus your efforts on the areas of accounting most relevant to your needs and interests – including a personal taxation and a business taxation unit tailored to South African Tax Legislation. Apart from the taxation module, learners will also be exposed to management accounting practices, audit procedures and drafting of financial statements.
Backed by SAICA and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), the AAT (SA) qualification is based on occupational standards that have been accredited by the South African qualifications Authority (SAQA) into the South African National Qualification Framework (NQF)
