Seminar with Mr Timothy Nast, Mayor of Midvaal

Mr Timothy Nast

Mr Timothy Nast, Mayor of Midvaal, is a speaker at the Regenesys Leadership Conversations Seminar Series.

As one of the youngest Mayors in the country, Timothy Nast’s determination to implement good governance in the Midvaal Municipality is bearing fruit.

Timothy grew up in the small village of Henley-on-Klip, where he cut his teeth in local politics and was first elected as a municipal councillor for the Democratic Alliance in December 2000. In March 2006 he was elected as the Council’s Speaker and served in that position until his appointment as Executive Mayor in April 2009. Timothy’s financial background in auditing has stood him in good stead and he is ever continuing with his studies. Together with his wife Kim, he still lives in Henley-on-Klip and believes that Midvaal offers an ideal lifestyle for families wishing to escape the rush of neighbouring cities.

Mr Nast’s vision for Midvaal, which has a population of more than 100 000 is, “to ensure that residents continue enjoying a good quality of life by maintaining existing infrastructure, improving services in underdeveloped areas and working towards a people-friendly and efficient municipality that responds to citizens’ needs in an affordable manner.”

Mr Nast will be speaking at the Regenesys Campus on Thursday 9 September 2010, 9h00.

The Regenesys Leadership Conversations is a conversation between leaders in civil society and individuals seeking to learn about leadership. Seminars focus on catalysing conversation between top business and governmental leaders, interested members of the public and academic communities.
