Dr Bertie Lubner, Chairman of the Lubner Group, is a speaker in the Regenesys Leadership Conversations Seminar Series.
Bertie Lubner, chairman of the Lubner Group of Companies, cut his teeth at the Plate Glass Group, developing the Company’s interests in what was then the Central African Federation. The Group operated in two areas of activity, Glass and Wood Products becoming the single largest world-wide supplier of hard woods.
After 41 years with the Group he decided to expand his long-term desires for involvement and interest in a wider sphere, making time available to assist his now grown-up children in their various business and lifestyle activities. He also showed a big concern for the under-privileged – both those with disabilities, as well as those who were victims of Apartheid. This led him to initiate and become either a Board member or Chairman of a number of outreach programmes.
Of the many distinctions in Bertie’s career he also holds an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy from the Ben-Gurion University and has received the State President’s Award for Meritorious Service to South Africa.
Bertie will be speaking at the Regenesys Campus on Wednesday 18 August 2010, 18h30 to 19h00.
The Regenesys Leadership Conversations is a conversation between leaders in civil society and individuals seeking to learn about leadership. Seminars focus on catalysing conversation between top business and governmental leaders, interested members of the public and academic communities.
