Programme Overview
Accounting is the keystone of business, yet a shortage of experienced accounting and finance professionals continues to affect employers around the world. To compete with other countries, we need specialised skills and competencies in finance and accounting. Government, multinationals, small and medium enterprises all depend upon good financial management.
The Diploma includes a choice of special units, which means that you can focus your efforts on the areas of accounting most relevant to your needs and interests – including a personal taxation and a business taxation unit tailored to South African Tax Legislation. Apart from the taxation module, learners will also be exposed to management accounting practices, audit procedures and drafting of financial statements.

- Preparing personal taxation computations.
Duration
- A block release of 3 days per month for 18 months.
Accreditation
Learners will receive a Diploma Certificate endorsed by the Association of Accounting Technicians upon successful completion of the qualification.
Backed by SAICA and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), the AAT (SA) qualification is based on occupational standards that have been accredited by the South African qualifications Authority (SAQA) into the South African National Qualification Framework (NQF).
Entry Requirements
Learners with an Advanced Accounting Certificate, or other similar qualification, will gain entrance to the Diploma level. AAT (SA) is committed to recognition of prior learning (RPL). Should you have any existing accounting qualifications, these will be assessed. If they meet the standards of the organisation, you may be given permission to enroll for the Advanced Certificate of the Diploma without having to complete the Certificate in Accounting. This will be at the discretion of AAT (SA)
