Seminar with Mr Bonisile Makubalo, Director SA Taxi Finance

Mr Bonisile Makubalo, Executive Director, SA Taxi Finance, is a speaker in the Regenesys Leadership Exchange Seminar Series.

Born in the Eastern Cape and matriculated from Limekhaya High. Bonisile completed Mechanical Engineering from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. He completed an Executive Leadership Programme at Unisa Business School and a Management Development qualification from UCT Business School. He has worked for Delta Motor Corporation (Now GMSA) as a Product and Project Engineer in the Product Development and Planning Department and gained an extensive exposure on Quality Management, Supplier Management, Products Development and Design, Product Marketing and many other important business tools. He joined Denel as a Design Engineer in the Mining Section and worked as Business Unit Manager Mining. He was responsible for the entire Business Unit from Marketing, Logistics, Production, Global distribution and Product Development.

He then joined Nkonjane Investments and Economic Prospecting as Operations Director mainly responsible implementing value-add projects on service agreements entered into with prospective BEE partners. This led to him being seconded fulltime on Goodyear Holdings to run the Group Tender Office as a General Manager. The Group Tender Office had the following departments Sales, Customer Relations Management, 24/7 on-road breakdown Services and 4 Fleet System and it also coordinated the retail operating companies like Hi-Q, Trentyre, Hlanganyela Tyres, Mabidi Tyres, Shikisha Dira and InterTyre. He was then headhunted by the Imperial Group and joined them as a Managing Director of Tanker Services Fuels & Gas Division and Truckafrica (a Botswana base fuel distribution subsidiary of Imperial). These businesses had a combined annual turnover of approximately R400 Mil running approximately 500 specialised vehicles.

Later he joined Transaction Capital to work at it’s Taxi Financing business (SA Taxi) as the Chief Operations Officer and later seconded to the board of directors as an Executive Director, he’s currently serving in this capacity. SA Taxi Finance is an above a billion rands annual turnover business that finances exclusively the taxi industry. Bonisile together with his wife started a number of businesses with various interests – chief amongst them is a BEE partnership with Tirepoint Holding – a leading retail truck tyre business that has retail centres throughout the country. Bonisile is also an active member of the Black Management Forum.
