Managing Virtual Teams

Course Overview

Organisations are increasingly branching out across different cities, countries and continents. Project teams are becoming virtual teams, with members who rarely, if ever, meeting physically. Virtual project teams are often assembled for the short duration of the project, across different geographic locations, time-zones and cultures. In addition to standard group dynamics and challenges of managing successful teams, this programme explores additional unique challenges of virtual team management such as communication, multiple reporting lines, managing at a distance, intercultural management, use of information technology, behavioural challenges and building the trust and team spirit of virtual teams.
