Regenesys Centre for Finance Management (RCFM) is proud to announce the launch of three new, fully-accredited professional qualifications:
- AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians)
- CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)
- ICB (Institute of Certified Bookkeepers)
Learners are now given a bouquet of choice when it comes to planning a career in accounting, bookkeeping and management accounting. We at RCFM believe that these qualifications offer endless opportunities and coupled with the guidance, support and knowledge of our expert facilitators, the future in the accounting sector looks promising.
About the qualifications:
AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians)
The AAT is an internationally-recognised qualification among thousands of employers worldwide. With over 100,000 members, it is the largest body of accounting technicians in the UK today. In 2006, the AAT was recognised by FASSET as a Quality Assurance Partner and a Memorandum of Understanding was also signed with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, thus paving the way for the AAT to be offered in South Africa.
Both the AAT Certificate in Accounting and the Advanced Certificate give you the relevant and practical skills to do a wide range of accounting and finance jobs. The course is extremely flexible and is open to all, no matter what your age or previous experience. This vocational course provides the knowledge and skills to perform the tasks demanded by being an Accounting Technician, and are uniquely packaged to comprise both accounting theory and a practical component which allow learners to develop and apply their skills in their own work environment.
CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)
CIMA offers an internationally recognised Certificate in Business Accounting qualification which is ideal for people who are new to the world of business qualifications. This qualification offers a solid grounding on the basics of management accounting, financial accounting and business. It is also a stepping stone towards the CIMA Professional Qualification.
This qualificaiton will introduce you to the concept of Management Accounting and the quantitative analysis and forecasting techniques used by Chartered Management Accountants. It will ensure that you understand the regulatory framework for Accounting, how accounts are prepared, the professional values and ethical standards expected of accountants and the economic environment in which organisations operate.
Successful completion of the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting demonstrates your understanding of the fundamentals of business accounting. It will provide you with a route into many varied business areas, as well as into the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
ICB (Institute of Certified Bookkeepers)
Learners completing any one of the ICB Qualifications will be able to be employed as Bookkeepers who do the work that requires fundamental knowledge of and the application of Bookkeeping and Accounting procedures in a variety of situations. Professionals with responsibilities involving financial matters require a range of skills and the ability to apply essential methods and procedures within the limits of their authority. Their work roles are in general accounting where they lend support to the Accountant and/or the Financial Manager of medium to large organisations. They also perform a wide range of accounting tasks independently in small companies but under the indirect supervision of an external Accountant in terms of legal requirements, in different industries and in commercial and industrial organisations.
Scheduling
All three qualifications can be scheduled as follows:
- Saturday classes at RCFM Campus in Johannesburg, Gauteng (minimum 10 learners per class)
- A two, one week block release option per qualification in the following main centres: (minimum 15 learners per class)
- Cape Town
- Durban
- For companies a two, one week block release option per qualification (minimum 8 learners per qualification)
