Practicing as a Skills Development Facilitator

Programme Overview

Organisations, according to the Skills Development and Skills Levy Act, are required to appoint skills development facilitators SDF to complete workplace skills plans and submit annual training reports. This course enables prospective SDFs to acquire the competencies to align training with their organisation’s strategic direction and attend to the requirements of the Act. Participants develop knowledge and skills to: perform skills gap analyses, co-ordinate planned skills development interventions, advise on quality managements systems for skills development practices and promote a learning culture.

  • Identify and prioritise training and development needs
  • Plan and organise and co-ordinate learning interventions
  • Review and report on the learning taking place implement quality assurance for skills development

Duration

  • 4 days contact time including facilitation and group activities
  • 6 months self study after which participants submit their portfolio of evidence

 Accreditation

A certificate of competence will be awarded upon successful completion of a portfolio of evidence
