Programme Overview
This course develops skills necessary to conduct a medium size research project suitable for work related management problems or for academic purposes. All steps of the research management cycle are covered, including: problem analysis, research planning, data collection, data analysis, findings, conclusions and recommendations. Although the course focuses mainly on a qualitative research methodology due to management related
problems and research focus areas chosen by the majority of delegates, a session at quantitative research methods are presented on an introductory level.

- Identify research problems within the context of a specific field
- Develop rationales for research problems following an acceptable process
- Gather research data following approaches appropriate to relevant contexts
- Analyse research data using recognised techniques
- Record and disseminate findings outside immediate sphere of familiarity
- Evaluate contribution to existing body/bodies of knowledge in a relevant field
